A friend of mine often say, ’the thing about life is it’s so daily.” Such a true statement and with that comes the changes that takes place from day to day and from update to update. Apart from Edler leaving, the young man that we were discipling Juan Carlos, also left and returned home. His grades have improved and also his relationship with the Lord and his family. And with Edler leaving, the timing seemed right for him to make the move back home. With a huge void at the ministry after Edler and Juan Carlos left and me being the only person on site at the Lighthouse, I wondered if I’d be able to attend the upcoming conferences. Well, with the challenges of life being so daily it is good to know that the One who loads us down with daily mercies and benefits is in full control and He provided!

Lighthouse News:

John Barlow assisting in operations at Lighthouse

I met three young men who were on the island for 6 months; short termers who were here being available to the Lord by developing relationships for the gospel and serving. One of the three, John Barlow quickly became a friend after several times running into him and sensing there was a purpose for it. Knowing that Edler was leaving and that we had a great need for help, I prayed about him being that answer to prayer and held back from saying anything about it to him. All three of them approached me when they realized that in order for them to stay in the country for a lengthy period of time they would have to obtain a voluntary work permit from a ministry or organization. Long story short, John felt drawn to help us when he heard of the needs and it was confirmed to both of us as we prayed. He quickly jumped in and learned the basics operations and transitioned smoothly after Edler left. Another answer to prayer was when he agreed to stay on site in the evenings and do the bread ministry so that I would be able to attend the upcoming conferences that were previously planned. Thank God for His timely provisions!

Belize City, home for the majority of the country’s population.

When I was in Belize City for the Annual Justice of the Peace meeting, I tuned into Lighthouse frequency upon arriving at the Municipal Airport and was very surprised to hear the station very clearly. In some areas it was in and out and very static but as I was on the Western Highway it came in very clear in several areas. Needless to say, I was very excited and recalled my pastor friend in Belize City asking me what it would take to get our signal to the City. He mentioned that as there is no Christian Radio station that has Bible teaching programs as Lighthouse and saw the great need for God’s Word to be broadcasting in Belize City. I have discussed this with the folks at Galcom International at the recent NRB Convention and they are excited to partner with us on this endeavor. Please begin to pray with us for approval from the Belize Broadcasting Authority as well as provisions through partnering with churches and broadcasters to make it a reality for the ‘light to shine in darkness’ in Belize City!

I recently shared at this year’s Career Day at San Pedro High School to the 400 plus students about Lighthouse Christian Radio and presented

Christian broadcasting to them. This opportunity thrilled me because I’ve observed that many young people in Belize and especially on the island seem to lack vision and ambition regarding their future. I was first to speak and challenged the students to develop their God given talents, gifts and potentials by first delighting themselves in the Lord and He will give them the desires of their heart. I was able to share not only my brief testimony but also about serving the Lord as a missionary to Belize. I invited the students interested in media and broadcasting to our upcoming Media Seminar at Lighthouse coming up at the end of February with professor of Communications from Northwestern College, Mark Seignious. It is our hope and prayer that God would use this seminar to stir the hearts of young people toward media and possible future volunteers or staff at Lighthouse. Please pray for more effectual open doors at the High School to impact students for Christ!

National Religious Broadcasters Convention 2012:

Clive with Isaac, Jacob, Johnny and Conroy at NRB Convention in Nashville, Tenn.

This year convention was a great blessing as usual with speakers such as Pastor Chip Ingram, Sam Crabtree, Michael Hyatt, Pastor Max Lucado, Pastor Miles McPherson and Pastor Greg Laurie. Each speaker brought forth timely messages all stressing the single theme of getting the message and love of Jesus out to a dying world that is so desperately in need and using the various tools and technological advances available to us. I was especially blessed to be joined this year with three other radio ministries from Belize who are all a part of the Belize Christian Media Fellowship that was formed over a year ago. The President of NRB, Dr. Frank Wright who has become a good friend over the years and a constant source of encouragement to me personally granted complimentary passes to this year’s NRB Convention to the directors of each station who are a part of the BCMF. We are so to thankful to God for the partnership of the National Religious Broadcaster Association with Belize Christian Media Fellowship and the incredible source of encouragement, resources and expertise it provides us in Belize.

Pollok to finalize plans on the upcoming Media Seminar in Belize on March 2-4. Northwestern College will be bringing down some of their top Radio/TV students from their Media Department with teachers along with staff and listeners of KTIS Radio from Twin Cities, Minnesota. This will be an exciting time as the members of the Belize Christian Media Fellowship will be hosting this weekend training seminar and looking forward to the training and equipping of the staffs of 6 Christian Radio stations and one TV station. Prayer and Praise:

Thanking God for providing all that was needed for me to attend the One Conference and the National Religious Broadcasters Convention and for the incredible time of teaching, encouragement and fellowship!

Please pray for wisdom and direction regarding steps to take to get our signal into more areas of Belize City.

Thankful for John Barlow’s servant heart and assisting at the ministry in my absence and his daily availability to serve while in Belize until the middle of May.

Please pray for laborers, short-term and long term missionaries/volunteers. There is a great need to assist with so many ‘little’ yet very important task as well as the daily operations of the radio station with only 1 full time employee and a part-time temporary volunteer!

Thankful for the Northwestern College Media and KTIS Radio staff and teachers for their ministry to the Radio & TV stations by providing training.

Please pray for God to be glorified in the upcoming Belize General Election taking place on March 7. Pray for an uneventful election day free from violence.

Also, please pray that the outcome of the election would not have any negative bearings on the lawsuit against the government by homosexual group.

Upcoming Events & Schedule:

March 2     Prince Harry visits Belize to represent the Queen of England.

March 2-4 Belize Christian Media Seminar with 6 Media Houses attending.
