Lucky’s mother abandoned him when he was four and his father has died. His grandmother takes care of Lucky. His grandmother is a small scale farmer who is not always able to provide their basic needs much less money for school fees.

Jesca lives with her grandmother who struggles to provide the basic necessities of life for her.

Mariam’s father was HIV+ and died in a car accident in 2019. Since then her mother struggles to see that her children get a better future.
