“When you face your mortality, your heart opens up to eternity.”
For many of the people we meet who are living with HIV/AIDS, the journey involves much more than physical health. It can bring questions to the surface that many of us spend our lives avoiding:
What comes after this life? Where is God in all of this? Is there hope for me?
At He Intends Victory, we believe these questions create sacred opportunities. Opportunities to sit with someone. To listen. To love. To pray. And, when the door is open, to share the hope we have found in Jesus Christ.
Scripture reminds us that God draws near to us in our most difficult moments: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
Death Does Not Have the Final Word
The heart of the Gospel is a message of hope.
Jesus Christ conquered sin and death through His death and resurrection. Because of Him, we believe there is hope beyond our circumstances, beyond sickness, and even beyond this life.
Jesus said: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” John 11:25 (NIV)
That truth has been at the heart of He Intends Victory since the beginning.
We recognize the tremendous importance of HIV treatment and medical care. But we also know that a person is more than a diagnosis.
That’s why we seek to care for the whole person: physically, emotionally, relationally, practically, and spiritually.
Through local churches, support groups, practical assistance, sustainable projects, and compassionate relationships, we walk alongside people affected by HIV/AIDS and remind them that they are seen, valued, loved, and not alone.
A Living Hope
Our desire is not simply to help someone through today’s difficulties. We want every person we serve to encounter the lasting hope found in Jesus Christ.
Peter described it this way: “In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 (NIV)
Hope for today. Hope in the middle of uncertainty. And hope for eternity.
Help Us Share That Hope
Every support group, home visit, practical project, prayer, and conversation creates another opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ.
Your gift helps us continue walking alongside people affected by HIV/AIDS, caring for their practical needs while sharing the eternal hope of Jesus Christ.
Will you help us continue bringing hope for today and hope for eternity to people around the world?
