Samridha
Samridha’s mother was infected by a man positive with HIV who deserted her when she found out she was pregnant. She is HIV+ and is often treated badly and not been able to find work. Life is difficult for Samridha.
Deep Darshan
Deep Darshan’s father deserted his wife while she was pregnant. Both Deep Darshan’s parents were HIV+ at the time. His mother works as a maid/housekeeper which barely covers the rent and adequate food and is unable to manage school fees for her son.
Prem
Prem’s mother died of HIV infection when Prem was seven. His father is mentally ill and doesn’t stay at home. Prem’s aunty is taking care of him, but she is very poor and has four children of her own, so life is very difficult for Prem.
